Biolab - Informatics meets Biology. Quantitative PCR.

The Biolab series aims at fostering and easing communication between biologists and informaticians. Each cycle proposes a theoretical introduction about the topic, and then gives participants the opportunity to do the experiment in practice.

The first episode deals with Quantitative PCR, qPCR.The workshop will show the theoretical principles of reverse transcription, quantitative PCR, and data analysis and offer a practical hands-on course performing reverse transcription reactions followed by real-time qPCR and data analysis.

Biologists will be glad to realise that informaticians are as much lost with doing practical experimentation as biologists faced with a computer. Moreover, informaticians will see where the data they are analysing on computer comes from, and which are the factors influencing experiment-related errors or variation in the data.
